For years, I was curious about people who built things.
How did she build that business?
How did she get to three locations?
How did they end up owning 60 investment properties?
How does someone own 14 retail franchises?
I wanted to know, but I never felt qualified to ask. What was I going to say?
Hi, you don’t know me, but can you explain how you built this empire?
Looking back, that’s probably exactly what I should have asked. But I didn’t. That was a self-confidence issue.
And even if they gave me the blueprint, how would I connect all the dots? Another self-confidence issue. See a pattern yet?
Eventually, something changed
I realized these people weren’t necessarily smarter than me. They weren’t some different category of human. They learned a skill that I just hadn’t learned yet.
That distinction changed everything for me. Because if something can be learned, I can ask questions and learn it too.
So I started asking.
How did you find the deal?
How did you finance it?
What went wrong?
Who helped you?
What would you do differently?
And little by little, things that once seemed almost impossible started to feel possible. Then after possible, some of them almost started to feel inevitable.
What we’ve built, and what we’ve lost
Over the years, we’ve made a lot of intentional decisions around business, real estate, and investing. Some worked incredibly well. Some didn’t.
We’ve built a real estate portfolio. We’ve pursued businesses. We’ve made investments. We also lost a few hundred thousand dollars on a bad deal. To us, that’s A LOT of money.
But we kept moving.
Looking back at all of it — the wins and the losses — one thing stands out: people.
People made introductions.
People opened doors.
People shared what they knew.
God uses people. And I want to be one of those people for someone else.
We’re all capable of figuring out a lot on our own. But sometimes the gap isn’t information. It’s proximity to people who are building.
That’s why I’m starting something new
It’s called The Next Chapter.
It’s a community for ambitious people who are building, buying, investing — or simply starting to ask: What’s possible for me next?
Some people will already own businesses. Some will be planning to buy one. Some will already own real estate, while others will be working toward their first rental property. Some love their careers and simply want to diversify. Others want to replace their W-2 income sooner rather than later.
The special part is that we get to show up, plan, dream, learn, and pursue whatever is on our hearts.
We meet every other Thursday at 4 PM PT for 60 to 90 minutes on Zoom. We’ll talk about what we’re working through, bring in people with experience, share resources and opportunities, make introductions, and ask questions we might not otherwise have someone to ask.
And hopefully, we’ll help each other see a few possibilities we couldn’t see before.
Because maybe your next chapter doesn’t begin with another Google search.
Maybe it begins with getting in the right room.
These are conversations I’m already having one-on-one. The Next Chapter simply opens the door so more of us can have them together.
I’m opening the community with a $49/month founding member rate. Once we reach 15–20 members, I’ll raise the price. Founding members keep their original rate.
Our first Founding Members Call is Thursday, September 3, at 4 PM PT. We’ll get to know who’s in the room, hear what everyone is working toward, and start shaping what this community becomes together.
If you’ve been looking for a room like this — or maybe didn’t realize you were until you read this — I’d love to have you in it.
